If wanting to eat real food as the majority or all of your diet, ditching processed salad dressings and dips can be hard! They are full of ingredients that make us want more and more….ingeniously designed, right!? But, the problem is that they quickly turn something healthy into junk food with all their artificial ingredients, added sugars, MSG, artificial colors, and more.

I have a son who LOVES ranch dressing and will only eat certain vegetables with this dip. Yup, he’s my picky one. (Sometimes I wonder if it’s because he started the first 3 years of his life eating a highly processed food diet). Payback!

So, for us, it wasn’t an option to ditch the flavor if I still wanted him to eat fresh veggies. Instead, I began searching for a healthier option. Ideally, I’d love for it to be dairy-free, but I’m not going to split hairs here. :p

So, I started making this recipe often while keeping plain greek yogurt on hand so I could. But, all of the ingredients started getting too time consuming to pull out, measure, and put away for each time we wanted ranch dressing or dip.

SO, I decided to pull out baby jars I’d saved from years ago, and put homemade seasonings in them. This saves me SO much time. Now, all I have to do is measure out the seasonings, put in the vinegar, and stir into Greek yogurt. Piece of cake.

You’re going to loooove it! 😛

Ingredients
  • 5.3 oz container plain Greek yogurt (or 1/2 cup)
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. dried dill weed (optional: we prefer without)
  • freshly ground pepper
Servings: people
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients into a small bowl or straight into the greek yogurt container. Stir to combine.
  2. If time allows, let it sit in fridge for at least a couple of hours to allow the flavors to meld. Stir again before serving.
  3. To use as a dressing, you may want to add 2-3 tsp of water to thin out.
  4. *Buy organic when feasible.
Recipe Notes

PRO TIP: Quadruple the recipe's dry ingredients and store in a baby jar. Shake to incorporate ingredients. When ready to make ranch dip, simply add the vinegar and 1-1/2 tsp. seasoning mix to a 5.3 oz container of plain Greek yogurt.
